ABOUT THE COVER

It’s not an “840”! This is the “820” Tractor that led to the production of the side-seat “840” Industrial, shown with a Hancock Elevating Scraper. Deere worked with Hancock to develop and produce what was needed as a highly maneuverable, short-turning scraper tractor. At a future time, a thorough study of the Experimental Tractor Serial Number Register may provide some evidence as to the origin and fate of this unit.
